ENHR – NHR 2010 New Housing Researchers’ Colloquium

WELCOME NOTE

Dear Friends,

We are happy to invite you to take part in the New Housing Researchers’ (NHR) Colloquium on July 2-3, 2010 in connection with the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR) conference on the 4-7 July, 2010 in Istanbul, which is one of the largest cities and the only metropolis in the world that is situated on two continents.

The New Housing Researchers’ (NHR) Colloquium offers an opportunity for Ph.D. students and other beginning researchers to present and discuss their work-in-progress on any housing related topic. The organisation committee encourages new researchers to participate in the colloquium where senior researchers will act as discussants and commentators on the students’ papers. We expect the participants will represent a wide variety of academic disciplines in which sociology, economics, human geography, political science, psychology, social work, history, urban planning, architecture, and others are included.

The core of the colloquium will be four workshops. The colloquium will include a welcome dinner, a plenary session and a study tour to a site of housing areas.

We hope that you will enjoy your participation in the NHRC. We are looking forward to a highly fruitful three days-long event in a never sleeping city, that is more than four thousand years old and also, was chosen as European Capital of Culture for 2010.
